MAJOR LIVE AUCTION
Bidding at the SMILE LIKE DRAKE Gala Event
You will experience the buzz, drama and fun of bidding in silent and live auctions. To bid in person on a MAJOR Auction Item just remain at your table and advise one of the SLDF Committee Members of your intentions prior (if possible) otherwise, stay seated and there will be paddles at your table for bidding and spotters on the floor to advise the auctioneer of your bid.
SMILE LIKE DRAKE Foundation Committee Members will be wearing a pink tie or badge for easy identification. If you cannot locate a SLDF Committee member and require assistance please tell your wait staff and they will locate a member for you.
Allows you to talk directly to a SLDF member in the auction itself who will relay progress back to you and, upon your instruction, bid on your behalf. Written Absentee Bids
Are great if you cannot attend the auction or are not available to participate either at the event or on the telephone. A written bid (also referred to as an Absentee Bid) is simply your direction to the auctioneer to attempt to bid to win the item up for auction. The auctioneer will bid progressively for you, up to your maximum bid. This bid cannot be increased on the night and will remain strictly private & confidential unless otherwise authorised by you or your organisation. To bid live at the event via telephone or place a Written Absentee Bid, you will be required to complete a bidder registration form that is available here.
*Requirements and Bidding Limits
In order to register to bid, you are required to supply the information requested, including valid credit card information. Each bidder is subject to bidding in the amount of AUD unless otherwise authorised.
You will not be able to place any further bids on other items or any additional bids on your items other than your registered items. You may adjust (i.e. remove, lower or increase) a maximum bid on a lot as long as you contact us no later than 4pm Thursday 28th November by telephoning us on +61 2 9905 9228 or emailing us E: firstname.lastname@example.org
Winning the Auction Item
As a successful bidder, if you registered as a Telephone or Written Absentee Bidder, you will need to pay for any purchases via a credit card details submitted in your registration form and your credit card will be processed on the evening of the 30th November 2013. You will be notified by email and telephone on Monday 2nd December whether you are successful or unsuccessful or you may wish to call: 0419 3333 12 over the weekend leaving all your bidding details and return contact telephone number etc and we will get back to you ASAP.
How much will you pay
If you are successful you will pay the hammer price and a tax-receipt will be issued to you.
Paying and taking it home
Once you have paid for your lot you can take it home or arrange for it to be delivered. Please note that some lots will be held at Doltone House over the weekend and then taken to the SLDF office in Brookvale NSW for collection or delivery.
If you don’t pick up your property within 7 days of the sale, bear in mind that handling and administration charges may apply. For collection information, we do advise that you contact us to confirm your property’s location prior to collection by telephoning us on

SILENT AUCTION BIDDING
For your convenience, we recommend that before you are seated you allow time in advance to preview all the Silent Auction Items that will be displayed on tables in the room. You will be able to get up from your table at any time throughout the evening (prior to the auction cut-off time) and write and record your own bid on the sheets provided.
If you would prefer to remain seated to bid there will be Silent Auction Bidder Forms on every table, please fill one out for each item you wish to bid on then hold it up and one of the SLDF Committee member will come directly to you to collect it.
If you would like to know how your bid is progressing, simply put your paddle up and an SLDF Committee member will come directly to you to with an update.
